BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB (CORE FUNCTION):
- interacting on a day-to-day basis with customers via phone and e-mail to resolve technical support issues and manage the customer experience
- generating technical content such as FAQ¿s, whitepapers, internal training, and sample applications on a quarterly basis.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Manage the customer experience for embedded developers via email and phone interaction
2. Maintain accurate and informative details of customer interactions using tracking database software
3. Troubleshoot both hardware and software contained within various embedded system configurations
4. Work concurrently with remote and local development teams via Instant Messenger, email, and phone to resolve issues
5. Isolate software bugs and develop test cases to demonstrate software bugs from customer input.
6. Capture and isolate feature requests from customer input
7. Participate in formal document reviews for external and internal use
8. Develop proactive technical content such as FAQ¿s, whitepapers, and sample applications
9. Provide feedback to management and product teams based on customer feedback
10. Develop internal training modules for cross training purposes
¿MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE LEVEL REQUIRED OF THE JOB-HOLDER
1. Education: Bachelors in Computer Engineering/Science (BCS, BSCE) or Electrical Engineering (BSEE)
2. Experience:
- 3 to 5 years experience working with and programming embedded systems (hardware and software) using C/C++ and Assembly
- this position requires knowledge of Linux (preferably in an embedded environment) at the level of a very experienced user
¿SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES AND SKILL SETS REQUIRED TO PERFORM DUTIES
1. Knowledge of Motorola Embedded Processors (8, 16 or 32 bit, experience working with CodeWarrior is a plus), with focus on support for the Linux kernel and Linux peripheral drivers for embedded systems.
2. Good oral and written communication skills, willing to travel.
