A Lead Solution Architect Lead combines the skills of an integration engineer and a Lead.
As a Lead Solution Architect, the team member will require hands-on knowledge in a broad range of protocol disciplines and networking topologies. The engineer will meet with customers and through interactive white board think sessions, assist in designing tailored live network test solutions for 3-Play and Internet Providers. The engineer will need to rely heavily upon excellent organizational and interpersonal skills in order to translate customer needs into a logically presented requirements document.
In the role of a lead, he/she will be the success facilitator of the entire solution being delivered and implemented at the customer site. The solution may be a demo, POC, Pilot or full PO¿¿¿ed implementation. In addition to defining development, QA, docs and release management deliverables the Lead will coordinate with the leads of each team and track planned to actual task delivery. The lead is also the point of contact for the customer team and owns responsibility for ensuring expenses maintain within the budget on a per project basis. He or she is expected to be well versed in IP Networking, have a logical and calm approach to troubleshooting issues, and can deliver and execute on risk/mitigation plans
- Excellent customer facing presence with strong verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Networking professional with 5+ years of project lead experience driving teams to implement complex IP Networking solutions in Network Equipment Manufacturing, Enterprise or Internet Service Provider operations
- Ability to build and manage a team whose role it is to focus on multiple parallel customer engagements
- Experience in working with customers through interactive white board think tank sessions to assist in designing solutions and capturing customer requirements
- Architect solutions into a live carrier or enterprise network
- Logical approach and in-depth knowledge of debugging in one or more of the following - L3VPN, Cable, xDSL, and Wi-Fi
- In-depth understanding of VoIP, IPTV or wireless
- Conceptual understanding of large and complex networks across multi-purpose devices - (Access Aggregation, Provider Edge and the Core).
- Experience with monitoring, trace, NMS, or test and measurement tools is a must
- Able to convey and present in-depth product technologies like connectivity, routing, security
- Entrepreneur minded; Work in a start-up like environment taking on multiple roles as needed to secure success
- Highly organized and possess a keen analytical and structured approach to problem solving.
- Must be able to operate independently juggling multiple competing priorities and project dead lines while at the same time be a highly motivated member of a close knit team.
- Able to quickly pick quickly up on new technologies, tools and engineering processes.
- Must have understanding of product development life cycles.
- Bachelors of Science in Computer Networking.
