Based in our Bucharest office and reporting directly to the Producer, the main purpose of this role is the reference development of mobile games.
Essential responsibilities and duties
• Projects – actively participate in all stages of a project life cycle in conjunction with the full project team (design, art, QA, etc). This includes pre-production (is it possible?), game development (accurate estimates, features implemented as requested), and smooth/timely handover into porting. Ensure all project deliverables are maintained to appropriate standards.
• Software Development Processes/Practices – understand and apply “best practices”. This includes use of I-play Coding Standards (to ensure ease of porting), ease of localisation, build process, version control, bug tracking, test & debug techniques, and software design and development.
• Expert – lead software development within at least one specific area of mobile game development and provide a knowledge base within I-play. Develop this knowledge and impart the information both through support, training and written communication.
• Mobile games Expertise – Knowledge of mobile devices, mobile games, and carrier certification criteria, & carrier requirements (e.g. Game Lobby).
Proficient in C/C++ and Java
• Knowledge of software development tools and techniques relating to building releases, version control, testing, and debugging.
• Practical experience of game development
• Knowledge of 2D & 3D programming.
• Expert knowledge in one of the following areas, Optimisation, 3D rendering, AI, Portability and framework, Audio/Video
• Good communication skills and an ability to work both as part of a team and on your own.
• Ability to instruct and train
