To be successful in your role you will have to perform the following activities:
* Mapping the architecture definition on Freescale cores and accelerators, analysis and optimization of HW/SW system parameters, defining the system specifications and the input/output processes
* Design, simulation and validation of Layer 1 (baseband) algorithms (within the areas of WCDMA, LTE, LTE Advanced)
* Working closely with customers for gathering and defining product requirements
* Strong collaboration with other Freescale internal teams and ecosystem partners to ensure alignment across multiple teams contributing to the final Freescale deliverables into the Wireless Access space (macro/pico/femto cells).
* Design and development of software applications meant to demonstrate the capabilities of Freescale technology solutions and to enable competitive analysis
* Represent Freescale in various customer and industry related events (customer on-site and remote support, workshops, etc).
To ensure your successful performance in this role your working past experience should reflect :
* At least 3 years experience in the wireless communications area (WCDMA, LTE)
* At least 3 years experience developing embedded software;
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
Your technical knowledge and skills should demonstrate:
* Very good knowledge of signal processing theory and practice. Experience in design, simulation and validation of signal processing Layer 1 algorithms (digital filtering, transforms, channel coding etc) using Matlab
* Experience in design and development of time critical physical layer signal processing software algorithms on high performance, multi-core DSP/CPUs
* Experience in embedded software development using: C, assembly, Matlab, scripting languages, code building tools (IDE based, make), control versioning systems, embedded real time debugging
* Very good knowledge of Layer 1 protocols and algorithms (for WCDMA, LTE, LTE-advanced); base-station L2/L3 Protocols knowledge would be a plus
* Knowledge in various SoC-DSP architectures (like Freescale StarCore based DSP, TI C6x, Mindspeed, LSI) would be a plus
