Working in a creative environment, the game designer makes the transition from “game idea” to actual game mechanics and content.
Together with the Creative Director and the Lead Designer, the game designer shapes the game and player experiences by defining the game rules and the interactions between the player and the game world.
Effectively designs game mechanics, tools and editors within given constraints.
Designs the game interaction through a system of rules.
Challenges: through player’s abilities and game obstacles.
Interactivity: through the control scheme and the user interface.
Creates prototypes together with other team members and develops them until the features are completed; analyzes and gives feedback, proposes new ideas linked to game vision, tunes parameters.
- Is a passionate gamer with a solid video game culture
- Analytical thinking: Capacity to quickly understand game design rules, mechanics, balancing concepts and techniques.
- Systemic thinking: consistency in thinking, always see the big picture when designing a new feature of the game.
- Concision: able to express your ideas in a condensed, meaningful way (both orally and in written)
- Creativity : think outside the box, being able to see things in a different perspective
- Good level in written/spoken English
