This Business Unit has recently been created by Oracle through the acquisition of Portal Software and MetaSolv. The remit of the CGBU is to provide Billing & Revenue Management (BRM) and Operational Systems Support (OSS) applications sotware to Communications and Media Operators, covering fixed line and mobile, voice, data and content. The role of the consulting team within the unit is to provide high value expertise in the product set, working with both partners & operators, to ensure that customers maximise the value of their investment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Junior Consultant is responsible for implementing technical solutions that fully utilize Oracle’s BRM (Billing and Revenue Management) or OSS (Operational Systems Support) products. The Junior Consultant understands and applies the technical components of Oracle’s solutions, in both customer and systems integrator environments, addresses specific customer requirements and has a thorough understanding of the capabilities and benefits of the solution.
- Presents technical solutions in an articulate and professional manner to customers
- Identifies and quantifies the customers’ technical and business needs; trains customers on Oracle BRM or OSS solutions; customizes and configures the solutions so that they meet the customers’ specific requirements
- Writes the functional specifications and maps Oracle’s capabilities to those needs and builds consensus around the technical solution required
- Acts as the technical expert to the customer demonstrating solid customer communications skills.
- Builds relationships with key technical customer contacts and system integrators
- Has appropriate relationships with Oracle engineering and technical support teams
- Works closely with the Account team in planning and coordinating sales efforts and providing visibility into all delivery related activities.
- Experience in Java and C/C++ is essential; experience of XML, Oracle, UNIX, J2EE would be a plus.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, along with strong consultative skills; good level of French, though not essential, would be an added advantage.
- Excellent presentation skills, enthusiasm, flexiblity in style and approach.
- Experience of customer facing engagements for any stage of the solution delivery lifecycle would be an advantage.
