RESPONSABILITATI

Based inour Bucharest office and reporting directly to the Senior Developer, the main purpose of this role is the reference development of mobile games


CERINTE

Projects – actively participate in all stages of a project life cycle in conjunction with the full project team (design, art, QA, etc). This includes pre-production (is it possible?), game development (accurate estimates, features implemented as requested), and smooth/timely handover into porting. Ensure all project deliverables are maintained to appropriate standards.

Software Development Processes/Practices – understand and apply “best practices”. This includes use of I-play Coding Standards (to ensure ease of porting), ease of localisation, build process, version control, bug tracking, test & debug techniques, and software design and development.
Expert – lead software development within at least one specific area of mobile game development and provide a knowledge base within I-play. Develop this knowledge and impart the information both through support, training and written communication.
Software Development Tools & Languages – be competent in the use of all tools and languages used in game development. This includes Brew/C++, Subversion, Ant, and IDE (IntelliJ, Eclipse). Stay abreast of new development tools/technology applicable to game development and apply as appropriate.
Game Tools & Technology – Develop a broad understanding of existing I-play game tools & technology and contribute to ongoing re-usability.
I-play Business Goals – gain an understanding of different I-play business units, their customers, goals, deliverables, and key dates (e.g. roadmap). Be capable of using this knowledge to plan-ahead, assess impact, synchronise & prioritise efforts, and identify red flags.
Mobile Games Expertise – Knowledge of mobile devices, mobile games, and carrier certification criteria, & carrier requirements (e.g. Game Lobby).
Knowledge, skills, Qualifications and Experience Required
Qualified or working towards relevant qualification
Knowledge of software development tools and techniques relating to building releases, version control, testing, and debugging.
Practical experience of game development using J2ME and/or C++.
Knowledge of 2D & 3D programming
Good communication skills and an ability to work both as part of a team and on your own.
An awareness of mobile games and games industry in general
