Act as technical lead for medium to large projects
Drive the design of solutions for the business that are scalable, maintainable, and reliable
Coding of design drafts (concepts or prototypes) to be used afterwards as a basis for products implementation
Proactively identify and evaluate emerging technologies and tools
Work with other senior Java software engineers to create the high-level J2EE software designs and technical specs
Evaluate package solutions and participate in selection of solutions to meet business needs and architecture standards
Participate in peer reviews on specifications, design and code
Work with development teams to resolve development and implementation issues, but also to analyze and fix complex problems raised by our customers (involved in coding activities up to 50% of the time)
Work closely with the business team and Business Analysts to ensure that requirements are fully understood and documented in order to deliver quality design deliverables
Work closely with QA and Operations to ensure smooth QA and deployment of applications
Work with project teams to plan integration and implementation strategies
Minimum 5 plus years of Java experience, 7 to 10 years in Information Technology
Experience in all phases of the software development life-cycle
Experience with implementation of large systems that utilize J2EE technologies
Applied knowledge of designing n-Tier OO system architectures, UML, Design Patterns
Experience developing in J2EE: Hibernate, Spring, GWT, EJB, JSP, Servlet, JMS, JNDI, RMI
Experience with Web Services Standards (SOAP, XML, WSDL)
Applied knowledge of user interface (HTML, Javascript, JSP) design
Applied experience with RDBMS design, development
Must be able to drive the design from business use-cases through design model
Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related discipline
Must be highly organized and detail-orientated
Excellent level of English communication, both written and verbal
