RESPONSABILITATI

The role of IT Support Engineer is to provide first and second line support to all desktop, backoffice, network and operational IT systems in Romanian office, and to communicate issues/changes back to the UK IT support teams.
Desktop
Perform first and second line desktop hardware and software support for all local users and machines
Ensure resolution of all reported incidents and/or escalate where necessary to the UK Support teams
Ensure all incidents and actions are logged in the Paypoint Helpdesk
Install and configure desktop and server hardware and software applications according to PP standard builds and instructions
Perform basic user maintenance in Active Directory such password resets and unlocking accounts.
Provide first line support for Remote Access users in Romania
Troubleshooting AV issues on local machines
Perform office moves
Support local PDA devices
Maintain an IT Asset register for local IT kit
Liaise with local suppliers to resolve faults and queries including Dell for PC and laptop issues
Pro-actively maintain a detailed and comprehensive set of procedures and checklists
Troubleshooting printer errors
Any other tasks consistent with the running of the Operations Dept
Systems Admin
Perform any manual backup tasks such as swapping tapes and checking backup jobs
Networks
Perform any local cabling tasks
Local support of the Mitel system and Blackberry devices
Local Operations
Perform any daily checks/tasks


CERINTE

Minimum of 1 years experience in a similar role in an internal customer environment
Good working knowledge of Windows XP, MS Office XP/2003 including Outlook
Exposure to office networks, both software configurations and cabling/network devices
Good communication skills both written and oral, especially when talking to non-technical staff
A well organised individual well presented with a professional and business-like image.
Service mentality aimed at exceeding customer expectations
Cheerful and confident with the ability to get on with the job no matter how daunting.
Someone who can cope under pressure with a flexible approach to work who is persistent and resilient with the ability to handle with setbacks.
Have initiative and the ability to act independently as appropriate within broad guidelines.
Must be able to work additional hours as required.
Able to document work done, create and handover new procedures to other staff.
