For our client, a market-leading global information services and publishing company focused on professionals, we are looking for an IT Specialist.
The IT specialist is responsible for the management of the following systems, processes and applications:
1. Planning
a. Technical Development Plan
Development plan which supports then BDP.
b. Budget
Yearly IT budget.
2. Application development, maintenance and support for electronic products.
3. Content Management and publication systems.
Designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the content management and publications system of the company, especially online.
4. Information technology infrastructure.
Provide an effective infrastructure with high reliability and good service levels (SLAs).
a. Hardware
Procure, upgrade and maintain workstations, servers, printers and other equipment. Ensure that computers are of appropriate technology level and up to the task.
b. Software
Install and update operating systems, office applications, e-mail, virus scan and other personal productivity and security programs.
c. Networking.
Network equipment, switches, routers, firewall, spam filter, internet connection and other networking applications and systems.
5. Support
Supporting employees use systems and applications effectively with minimum time lost on problems and errors. Provide for second level support for customer with technical problems in products if these can¿¿¿t be solved by the customer support.
6. Business infrastructure
Analysing, defining and implementing requirements in order that these systems fulfil business needs and provide reliable operation.
7. Policy
a. Developing and updating the IT Policy in accordance with the needs of the company and in alignment with the IT General Control of the company.
b. Vendor Management
Manage vendors and contracts for optimal performance.
- Project Management knowledge;
- Good command of English language;
- Technology: XML, HTML, databases, document storage, internet applications, MS-Office;
- Operating systems: Windows, Linux is an advantage;
- Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Visual Basic, C++, .NET framework, PHP, Python;
- Experience in Content Management / Document Management / Editorial Systems;
- Search engine knowledge is an advantage.
