We are seeking for a highly motivated person that will oversee the day-to-day activities of our infrastructure, a candidate with excellent problem solving and technical skills, who is eager to help move our product forward and wants to join a team of experienced, professional engineers, designers, marketers and architects. The successful candidate will effectively collaborate with application developers to automate infrastructure, deployment, and continuous integration processes using industry-standard tools and best practices.
Responsibilities / Day to day activity
Work with worldwide teams to implement proactive monitoring systems to ensure availability and uptime of our systems
Emergency support 24/7
Server farm operations / provisioning / optimization
Source code management / push, build, deploy / release management
Server administration: Monitor health and performance of servers, Optimize data center, Backup, Disaster Recovery
Ensure availability of System Resource and troubleshoot any hardware and/or software related issues
Research and Setup environments and create documentation of the process
Manage AWS Account and Instances
Multiple CDN management (optimization based on features and cost)
Migration from one CDN to another, if necessary
Media Transcoding workflows
Reporting
Ad-hock reports creation (analytics) for marketing purposes and for CDN optimization
SLA management and monitoring
Development environment creation and standardization (using virtualization, configuration management tools)
Administer our Office 365 account
Administer desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, smartphones, security updates and patches.
Work under a Team Leader in Phoenix, Arizona
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Strong analytical skills
Team working skills
Minimum 3 years in Unix system administration
Strong Shell Scripting experience is a must; other light coding skills is considered a plus
Experience with Amazon Cloud Services is mandatory
Experience with GIT (or SVN) and with Release Management process/tools
Good working experience with Virtualization Software and knowing best practices
Experience in DBA: MySQL / PostgreSQL, but also other non-relational databases: MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis
Worked before in an Open Source development environment
Networking skills: Routing/Switching/Firewall configuration
Nice to have Qualifications/Skills
Working with Media Streaming / Transcoding is an advantage
Experience with DRM implementation and management is big plus
Experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet.
Experience with orchestration tools such as Jenkins.
Understanding of container technologies like Docker
Experience with different caching systems: Varnish, Memcached, Redis
Amazon certification is a plus
Current stage of the project - At the present moment the development team located here, in Romania is composed of back-end and front-end web developers&architects working on the reconstruction of the streaming platform. The romanian team was formed aprox. 7 months ago, and and its purpose is to be involved exclusively in the development area of the project. This is an opportunity to join a recently formed development team, and to be actively involved in the technology stack completion for the development process.
