General:
The IP Design Engineer is responsible for the delivery of IP network architecture, design and implementation, which includes:
- Understanding the customer requirements and deliver cost-effective, IP network designs into Operations.
- Implement solutions that meet the customer’s requirements with regards to availability and reliability.
- Work with equipment vendors to ensure that equipment deployed in customer networks is fit for purpose.
- Maintain an awareness of market trends and vendor roadmaps to enhance the customer’s network strategy.
Responsabilities:
- Solution Delivery
- Design and implementation of IP network solutions to deliver customer requirements. Responsible and accountable for producing:
- Statement Of Requirements
- Target Architecture
- High Level Design
- Detailed Design
- Implementation Plan
- The ability to describe business benefits and risks of proposed solutions
- Provide solution overview, training and suggested troubleshooting.
- Produce preventative maintenance guides for support
- Ensure impacts and changes are recorded and communicated effectively utilising company standards, procedures and policies
- Operations
- Work with the Operations department to deploy solutions into Production
- Provide 4th line support for delivered architecture.
- Accurately report time spent on software projects.
Technical
- Minimum of 4 years experience in IT Field or Telecommunications.
- Good understanding of IT and Telecom market.
- Relevant experience on writing support processes and procedures, creating job aids etc.
- Good experience working with telephony equipments (setting, routing and forwarding).
- Good knowledge of IP Network Design, Administration and Implementation.
- Practical experience working with network management/monitoring systems, preferable.
Education
- University degree in Telecommunications or IT Engineering

- Fluent in English;
- Able to be a positive and cooperative member of a design team, and able to work autonomously.
- Have a persistent and thorough approach and be able to contribute to debates about new ideas.
- Ability to cope in a fast growing environment
