- The ability to describe business benefits and risks of proposed solutions.
- Provide solution overview, training and suggested troubleshooting.
- Produce preventative maintenance guides for support.
- Ensure impacts and changes are recorded and communicated effectively utilising company standards, procedures and policies.
Operations
- Work with the Operations department to deploy solutions into Production.
- Provide 4th line support for delivered architecture.
- Accurately report time spent on software projects.
Essential Skills
- Minimum of 5 years experience in IP Network Design – in a Mobile Telco Operator company.
- Knowledge of Mobile Transport and IP Network infrastructure (GGSN, IP-IMEI management configuration).
- Knowledge of Optical fibre standard transport infrastructure i.e. SDH)
- Proven track record of delivering solution using OSPF, QOS, NAT, VoIP, IP Routing and Switching.
- Working knowledge of MP-BGP, RIPv2, MPLS, Network Management Platforms, Firewalls, SNMP and Load Balancing.
- Knowledge of IP addressing on multiple sites and sizes.
- Knowledge of Cisco 6500, 7200 VXR’s, 3600, 2600, & 837 routers.
- Knowledge of Cisco 4000, 3500 & 2900 catalyst switches platform.
- Knowledge of Content Service Switches (CSS)
- CCNA or CCNP (or Juniper equivalent) qualification desirable.
