RESPONSABILITATI

The successful candidate will coordinate an offshore team of software and quality engineers and be responsible for the delivery of web based software on-time, on-budget and to excellent quality. Responsible for the company’s Romanian office, the candidate will be experienced in managing a software delivery function, ideally in an offshore environment and be well versed in the use of Agile methodologies (SCRUM, XP).
The Head of Romanian Software Development will have a strong technical and product delivery background, be conversant in Microsoft technologies with the ability to carry out hands-on coding when required. Appreciation of front-end technologies such as PHP and SOA interfacing using SOAP / ReST technologies is an added advantage.
The candidate should be a natural leader of people, a technical expert at developing customer-facing web-based products, managing resource assignments, developing schedules, and delivering in an Agile environment. He will work very closely with the onshore development and product teams to ensure that overall product vision is maintained.

CERINTE

Bachelor's Degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
 Proven ability to motivate teams to deliver quality product in aggressive timeframes, ideally gained in an offshore environment
 6 to 8 years experience in technical design, development and team leadership in the delivery of compelling, high volume, high performance web applications.
 Full project lifecycle experience with an agile methodology such as SCRUM or XP
 Skilled in the design and development of Microsoft technologies (C#, SQL Server, ASP.NET)
 Experience of working hand-in-hand with a Quality function with an ambition to improve product quality through automation
 Strong knowledge and application of design patterns. Strong ability to lead tech workshops and to communicate tech design and best practices effectively – verbally and written.
 Experience in delivering applications for internationalization, localization and white label / customization.
 A creative thinker with strong analytical, communications and interpersonal skills.
 Passionate about technology and experimenting with the latest developments in web and mobile technology.

The following would be an advantage:
 Web programming languages such as PHP.
 Experience of integrating with SOA services using technologies such as SOAP and ReST.
 Experience of developing scalable web application architectures – 100’s of transactions per second – scaling linearly over multiple servers. Awareness of the challenges and experience of technical design strategies to address these challenges.
 Use of automation frameworks for testing web applications and of performance testing frameworks to test load and scalability of websites.
