General accounting tasks (GL account maintenance, journal entries, closing activities, reporting etc.), Asset Accounting (capitalization, depreciation, amortization), Cost Accounting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREA:
General accounting tasks:
- Monthly closing activities for different locations
-Review and submission of trial balances for different locations
-Payroll posting
-Posting of provisions
-VAT related activities
-Local GAAP for different countries and reconciliation with US GAAP accounts
-Account reconciliation
-GL system and map of accounts maintenance
-Assist locations in other GL accounting issues
-SOX and internal control compliance
-Interaction with statutory and government auditors
-Providing the data for statutory tax reporting
-Interfaces with payroll system. Correctness of uploads
-Deposit payroll taxes
-Month end and year end closing activities
-Accrual record
-Inter-company accounting
Fixed assets tasks:
-Creation and modification of projects
-FA Classification
-Asset under construction settlement
-Acquisition – retirement – transfers
-Rebilling of sold assets
-Accounting for leasing
-Accounting for goodwill
-Accounting for non standards accounts
-Running amortizations program
-Running program for local GAAP
-Reporting of assets under construction: Balance and statistic,Movements,Detail for plants
-Capital spending reporting
-Local quarterly reporting
-Year end closing activities carry forward balances
-Year end closing - US and local reports
-Accounts reconciliation
-Contact with VEGA team
-Reporting to service management
-Contact with internal auditors (SOX, QCD) and application of action plans
-Contact with external auditors and application of action plans
-Archiving of documents
- Basic knowledge of German (written and spoken)
- University Economical Degree
- Fluency in English
- Problem solving /conflict resolution/analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to meet strict deadlines
-Computer skills – Excel preferred
- 2+ years experience in Accounting is required
