-Is responsible for supervision of the accounting, including preparation of financial statements and reports, budgets and forecasts, and management information.
-Analyses accounting practices. Verifies completeness and accuracy of bookkeeping.
-May head all or any combination of financial operations: controlling, budgeting, payroll, treasury, tax or management accounting.
-Examines and analyses accounting records to determine financial status of the company.
-May prepare financial reports concerning operation procedures.
-Inspects items in books of original entry to determine if accepted accounting procedures were followed.
-Verifies journal and ledger entries of cash and payments, purchases, expenses, and trial balances by examining and auditing inventory items.
-Prepares reports for management, reporting financial conditions.
-Makes recommendations for improving the financial operations and the position of the company.
-May supervise and co-ordinate activities of subordinate staff.
-Communicates with tax authorities, tax specialists, lawyers, and auditors to ensure legal compliance, at a minimum cost to the company.
-Supervises statutory audit and tax return filing.
-Follows developments in the current Romanian accounting standards, in statistics, in business law, in tax regulation, and in issues concerning environmental standards.
-Performance is measured by quality compliance with applicable regulations.
-Extensive financial operations knowledge.
-Works independently.
-Approximately five years experience in the finance field.
-May co-operate on the solution of special financial issues (sometimes with external consultants).
-Completes complex and/or particular financial tasks.
