On behalf on our client, a British company acting in the Oil & Gas field and with an intense active exploration programme in Romania we are looking for an Accounting Manager to join their team.
The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for the day to day financial aspects of the business in Romania and to assist the Financial Controller in the overall financial control and co-ordination of the financial aspects of the company, ensuring that the financial activities in Romania are adequately controlled and hence financial figures from the Romania ledgers can
be relied upon in producing Group Accounts in London.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Maintaining adequate accounting records to satisfy Romanian accounting and tax requirements and ensuring all Romanian fiscal, reporting and submission deadlines are met;
- Production of billings and resolving billing queries;
- Production of billings in line with Romanian requirements for submission to Romanian Partners;
- Preparation of cash calls in line with approved budgets;
- Developing a budget for Bucharest office costs and assisting the Country Manager in budgetary control of these costs;
- Ensuring all Romanian VAT returns are correctly calculated and submitted on time and all VAT issues are adequately controlled;
- Ensuring Corporate tax returns in Romania are filed accurately and on time and to advise the Financial Controller on aspects of tax planning that may need the usage of specialist external consultants to optimise tax charges from the Company¿s perspective.
- A qualified Romanian accountant;
- Preferably also an ACCA member;
- At least 4 years experienced in Accounting, preferably in a similar industry;
- English proficient, both verbal and written;
- Familiar with UK GAAP and SUN System- is desirable.
