The Packet Telephony Software Components Team, part of Networking & Multimedia Group within Freescale Semiconductor Romania has the mission to provide DSP Based Software Solutions in the areas of Voice & Audio Processing, tone detection and data transmission.
The team encompasses a wide range of roles, from Matlab designs to real time test environments. Depending on engaged activities, day-by-day work may involve time and frequency domain signal analyses, C development in Eclipse for Starcore environment and profiling using complex platform simulators.

To be successful in your role you will have to perform the following activities:
- To design, to develop, to optimize and to test audio, voice and tone processing software components using development suites for Freescale' s cutting-edge DSP platforms (Starcore based MSC8122, MSC8144 and MSC8156)
- To work closely and provide feedback to tools and hardware design teams
- To provide remote or on-site support to our customers in Europe, North America or Asia for developed components (on a needed basis)
To ensure your successful performance in this role your working past experience should reflect :
- Strong C and assembly programming skills
- Ability and desire to work with multiple execution units DSPs
Your technical knowledge and skills should demonstrate:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Telecommunication
- Signal processing knowledge in the communication segment
-Solid understanding of C and parallel assembly optimization techniques
Any of the following aspects will be considered a plus in your application:
- Skills for analysis of generated code to identify optimization opportunities
- Familiarity with Motorola DSP56xxx or TI C6x assembly instruction sets
- Development experience following standardized software development process
- General knowledge of compiler technology
- Interest in or experience with voice and data transmission related ITU-T G and V series, GSM or 3GPP(2) standards
