The Electrical Engineer is responsible for providing engineering and technical support on electrical issues, in line with business needs.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Providing technical recommendations to the business on electrical infrastructure and technology issues;
- Providing engineering support for projects and minor betterments, including development of electrical design documentation, overseeing detailed engineering and advice during equipment purchase, construction and commissioning phases;
- Providing ongoing support to the Operations and Maintenance Departments including ongoing development of electrical equipment strategies and the identification and resolution of equipment reliability issues.
- Relevant degree;
- HND/HNC qualified candidates may also be considered with sufficient hands-on experience;
- 5+ years experience working to provide operations and maintenance support.
Knowledge & Skills
-Current detailed working knowledge of design and maintenance requirements of electrical systems and equipment at 11kV down to low voltage plant utilisation levels;
- Knowledge of range of equipment including switchgear, motors and starters, system and equipment protective relaying, battery chargers and uninterruptible power supplies;
-Team player, able to interface well with the business teams, engineering technicians and fellow professionals;
-Able to apply engineering and problem solving skills to meet challenging safety and business objectives;
-Able to display leadership/management skills including adaptability, analytical capability, initiating action plans, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, honesty and integrity, drive and perseverance and commitment to the highest of standards;
-Good English communication skills, written and verbal.
