To work within a Globally distributed team in the Design and Development of automated Windows and Linux Desktop Images for 80,000 systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-To assist in design, build, test and troubleshooting of Windows and Linux Desktop Images.
-To write and maintain scripts that automate the distribution and configuration of the Desktop Image.
-To Develop Software Packages and Tools that are used in the Desktop Environment.
-To research, design and develop new desktop solutions as and when the business need arises.
-To Provide 3rd level support of GDS solutions to internal Oracle IT staff.
MIN SKILLSET REQUIREMENTS:
-Thorough Knowledge of Linux, Building RPMS, Scripting, Kickstart etc.
-Programming & Scripting Skills
-Industry Standard Desktop and Laptop Hardware.
-Support and troubleshooting of above.
-A high standard of English
HIGHLY ADVANTAGEOUS ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
-Windows XP
-Standard Desktop Applications.
-Building of Desktop Images (Windows or Linux).
- Web Technologies
Ideally person will already have had several years experience in IT and have an ability to work in a distributed team environment.
