- Will be responsible for delivering highway, roads & bridges design projects;
- Will lead and mentor junior level technical staff assisting in the delivery of those schemes;
- Will provide a responsive, customer focused service to external and internal clients;
- Management of the production of designs for projects according to Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB);
- Direct liaison with Client with ability to assist client in the development of project briefs;
- Have an aptitude to multi task and to be self-starting in new business environments and service areas;
- Management of projects to programme and budget;
- Project development including preparation of briefs, scope of works etc, completion of technical tasks as appropriate to complete the works, liaison with clients, stakeholders, other professional bodies and contractors to the company’s Quality Assurance procedures;
- Responsible for working with his team in advancing the technical capability to the highest standard. This will include identifying innovative approaches and techniques and presenting technical papers;
- Using relevant software packages;
- Direct, train, and assign projects to Design Engineering personnel;
- Work closely with customers to support new application development and projects design;
- Oversee design projects;
- Ensure timely progress and budget reports.
Key Relationships:
- Internal – Civil, Geotechnical & Structural Engineers;
- External – Client, Highways Agency; Designers.
Conditions: Will be required to attend client meetings and site visits on occasions.
PROFILE:
-University degree in Engineering - roads & bridges construction;
- Advanced (10years +) experience of design engineering for roads & bridges;
- Material cost saving experience by revising the project design;
- Fluency in English;
- Good analytical thinking, problem solving and communication skills;
- Management skills.
STUDIES:
Technical University, Specialization degree Roads Design Engineering;
Any other technical and management certification is an advantage.
SKILLS:
PC literacy (MS Office)
Fluent English, both spoken and written;
Experienced in coordinating design engineers teams and developing business.
