Work with Engineering/Development to do the following
¿ Implement procedures ensuring the integrity of the database
¿ Deals with database capacity issues
¿ Replication, and other distributed data issues
¿ Works with Engineering/Development to proactively access and provide DB2 needs
¿ Primary liaison with IBM/Microsoft for ongoing support issues
¿ Proactively liaison IBM/Microsoft for release schedules, fix packs, etc.
¿ Proactively liaison IBM and other 3rd parties to seek out answers for bugs, issues, challenges.
- Experienced DBA with demonstrated ability to deploy new environments, migrate existing data and performance tuning
- The major required skill is proficiency in DB2 Universal Database for Unix, and Windows.
- Minimum Two years experience with DB2 V8.x/V7.X.
- Experienced SQL Server DBA, database administration in large network environments,
- Minimum two years experience working with large-scale, high-availability production databases,
- Experience with backup and recovery,
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects and work in a fast paced environment.
