The Database Administrator is primarily responsible for the installation, upgrade, maintenance, tuning, daily operations and backup of the Oracle database.
- Education:
- University level, technical degree.
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as an Oracle database administrator, particularly in relation to performance tuning, security, reliability, scalability, and capacity sizing, backup and recovery;
- Experience as a DB2 database administrator is a plus.
- Knowledge:
- Good understanding of Application Server concepts and technologies;
- Good understanding of the underlying internet technologies (HTTP, TCP/IP, etc);
- Good understanding of Oracle Database server concepts (RAC, Backup& Recovery, etc.);
- Good understanding of Oracle Portal and the underlying technology stack;
- Advanced performance tuning techniques;
- Knowledge of UNIX and shells scripting;
- Good command of English (spoken and written).
