Data Architect Engineer to create, maintain and tune data architecture on Vendio's databases.
Role and Responsibilities:
-create and maintain up-to-date E/R diagrams / DDL list
- create table/stored procedures/SQL/index
- write data layer (DL) in different languages (PHP, Perl, Java, C, others)
- write advanced SQL
- data transformation (migration) (oracle to mysql, mysql 3 to mysql 5, etc)
- DB performance tuning
- simplify # of tables, dbs, schemas, etc
- designing replication/master-slave architecture
- report to the Chief Data Architect.
- B.S. in Computer Science/Engineering with 3-5 years or M.S. in Computer Science/Engineering with 1-3 years experience in performance tuning dbs
- Linux/Unix required
- Good experience in working with Linux, MySQL, Java, Perl, PHP. Good knowledge of Oracle.
- Experience in designing databases (MySQL), E/R diagrams and tuning them for better results. Any experience with inverted indexing based open source tools like Lucene, MG is a plus.
- Must have strong Technical Depth, Inter-personal skills, oral and written communication skills, and an ability to think out-of-the-box.
