RESPONSABILITATI

The Customer Environment Lab (CEL) group was formed to provide highly available Test and Diagnostic resources for Global Customer Support. These environments are used by analysts to recreate customer problems, training, beta testing and to test possible solutions and are an essential part of the architecture needed to support Oracle’s customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provision and maintenance of Oracle environments (Application Server, Collaboration Suite, RAC, Enterprise Manager):
- Installation of new environments;
- Patching and upgrading of new and existing environments
- Proactive monitoring to ensure servers, databases and applications environments are always available and running at optimal performance.
- Documentation to ensure analysts understands what resources are available to them and how to make best use of those resources.
- Refresh of Stable environments from backups on a regular basis.
- Investigation and resolution of non-functional Oracle Applications issues.
- Ensure databases are successfully backed up.
Provision and maintenance of Oracle EBS environments:
- Creation of UNIX accounts for each database with a suitable pre-configured UNIX environment and disk quota.
- Creation of Dedicated applications environments from tapes
- 2nd support for analysts on DBA and APPS DBA type issues.
- Proactive monitoring of dedicated environments for database issues, including tablespace, extents, concurrent managers; SGA size
- Ensure databases are successfully backed up as per the schedule agreed with the analyst community.
- Documentation to ensure analysts understands how to request resources and help from CEL.
Provision of space on Non-Applications servers for analysts to create non intrusive Crash and Burn testcases
Provision and maintenance of servers for intrusive Crash and Burn test cases.
Work with CEL Team leads to look at new releases and technologies. Understand the new technical requirements and resources needed to implement these. Provide relevant documentation for the CEL team and analyst community.
Continuously look for and feedback to the team leaders ways of improving the level of service that CEL provide.
Build a strong working relationship with the support analysts to ensure we work efficiently together in finding timely resolutions to customer problems.


CERINTE

-The ideal candidate should have a degree in Computer Science;
- At least 2 years experience as DBA, Apps DBA or Core technology is desirable;
- Good knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Unix, Linux);
- Experience in supporting client/server applications
- Security knowledge (LDAP, Active Directory, etc.)
- Team player attitude
- Good communication skills
- Excellent verbal and written skills in English.
