- Communicate with internal/external clients regarding hardware/software issues.
- Install and configure hardware/software according to infrastructure project specifications
- Install and configure (basic/advanced) Operating Systems – Unix (mainly AIX), Linux, Windows
- Install, configure, and administer application and middleware software
- Perform emergency as well as scheduled system and network maintenance in accordance with company IT policies and procedures to ensure reliability, availability and security
- Manage on-site and on-call service issues, and escalate to next level support when necessary
- Diagnose technical problems, provide multiple-level onsite and offsite advice and support to end-users to resolve fault areas as needed
- University Degree in Computer Science, Informatics or equivalent
- 4+ years of knowledge and experience in:
• Operating systems – UNIX (AIX), Linux, and Windows
• Directory services – MS Active Directory, LDAP
• Application servers – JOnAS, JBoss, Websphere, or Oracle AS
• Internet, network and application protocols - DHCP, TCP/IP, POP3, SMTP, and others
• Messaging environments – MS Exchange Server, Sendmail, Qmail, Lotus Notes
• Laptop, work station and server hardware equipment
• Windows and/or UNIX-based domains and infrastructure services
• storage equipment basics – HP EVA Series, IBM Fast Series, EMC Simetrix, Clariion
• Backup and restore software and hardware products
- Sound communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive problem-solving attitude and skills
- Good command of English (written and spoken)
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
- Clean driver’s license and ability to travel
