Our client is a well established financial institution that is rapidly growing in the Romanian market.
The CFO will report to the General Manager of the bank.
His main activities will be:
- Develops or revises financial systems to meet the needs of the organisation.
- Advises top management on financial resources and of operation costs. Makes a recommendation for improving cost control, property management, credit and collection, tax reduction.
- Is responsible for supervision of the Accounting, Finance and Controlling, Risk Management Departments
- Examines and analyses accounting records to determine financial status of the company.
- Makes recommendations for improving the financial operations and the position of the company.
- Communicates with tax specialists, lawyers, auditors to ensure legal compliance, at a minimum cost to the company.
- Follows developments in the current Romanian and international accounting standards, in statistics, in business law, in tax regulation, and in issues concerning environmental standards.
- Communicates with the appropriate audit, tax and accounting authorities.
- Formulates policy for subordinate department managers.
- Participates in decision on the chosen audit company.
- Prepares reports for management, reporting financial conditions, detailing the source and application of funds.
- Participates on negotiations regarding budgets and financial planning.
- Supervises statutory audit and tax return filing.
- Performance is measured based on the quality of the financial programs, i.e., meeting of financial targets and compliance with applicable regulations.
- University degree (preferable ASE)
- At least 4-5 years experience in the finance field preferably within "Big Four"
- Extensive knowledge of Romanian financial regulations
- Knowledge of Basel 2 requirements is a plus
- Fluency in English
- IFRS experience; ACCA is a plus
- Management experience
