Cellular Platform Group with FREESCALE SEMICONDUCTOR ROMANIA develops leading software solutions for Freescale’s 3G cellular platforms.
The Software Engineer is a member of a team responsible for creating testing tools for Freescale cellular platforms. These tools are used for software unit testing. The team is skilled in programming (C and C++) and has knowledge of the standards involved (GSM, UMTS, etc). The team has a strategic role to provide the needed features that will help our software components teams to maximize their efficiency.
Specific knowledge/skills:
- University degree, preferable in Computer Science, Automation, Electronics.
- Experience in C/C++ development and object-oriented design/programming.
- Knowledge of microprocessors and peripherals architecture.
- Ability to debug complex, multi-threaded programs.
- Spoken and written English.
Experience in some of the following would be a plus:
- Knowledge of software configuration management, preferable ClearCase.
- LINUX, UNIX programming experience (using makefiles, etc).
- UML knowledge, ability to understand basic UML class diagrams.
- Ability to work with third party or inherited code; refactoring experience.
- Testing techniques.
