The successful engineer will primarily develop and deliver software for a real time telecommunication hybrid system (telephony switch). Activities include all phases of development from the initial product definition through architecture, design, code, testing phases to release to manufacturing and maintenance (bug-fixing the system).
The candidate will be a member of a team of Object Oriented C++ embedded developers working on leading edge telephony, data networking, and VoIP product. The candidate will be responsible for low level design and implementation based on a high level design document as well as definition and execution of development testing. The candidate will also participate in design reviews, code inspections, requirements definition, and test plan and customer documentation reviews. The developer will also address customer problems with existing products or assist colleagues in debugging other designs. We are seeking a hands-on developer who is a fast learner and team player, working closely with other developers, testers and field engineers.
Key skills:
- 2/3 years relevant industry experience in C/C++
- Familiarity with telephony and networking fundamentals
- Good command of English language
- Computer Science/Engineer BA degree or equivalent degree
Bonus skills:
- Embedded development skills
- Experience with a real time operating system
- Experience with cross compilers, debuggers, etc.
- Experience with telephony products (PBX and CTI - Voice Mail, Automatic Attendant, IVRs) and protocols (T1/E1 ISDN QSIG, ETSI; Q.931; IP Telephony H323, RTP)
- Experience with LAN based products and protocols
- Experience with a version control system (CVS, ClearCase)
