Nature and Scope:
The Business Consultant for Retail Applications will have access to specific training of the Retail Apllications products in order to participate to the success of the implementation project by leveraging their retail knowledge and expertise for the customers benefit.
During an implementation, the Business Consultant for Retail Applications provides innovate and consultative technical solutions to the customers.
Job description:
- Makes recommendations about the most appropriate way of implementing an Retail Applications and of utilizing the Retail Applications resources, using the specific implementation methodology, while remaining sensitive to the customer¿s strategic business drivers, project objectives, resources availability and time-frames;
- Works with the customer to develop a common understanding of the future application architecture, to include business functions by system, and key interface points between Retail Applications and third party applications;
- Participates in analysis workshops by mapping the Retail Applications terminology and procedures to the customer¿s business operating environment, agreeing to workarounds or potential modifications, as required, or advising on potential changes to current business practices;
- Develops detailed modification specifications and advising the customer on the status of the modification development and on the delivery and testing of modified functionality;
- Communicates proactively with all appropriate parties regarding project status and open issues and completing all administrative duties related to the project, including the completion of status reports, as required, billing reports etc.
- Maintains relationships with key individuals within the customer organizations to identify needs for additional products or services and to resolve major project issues;
- Trains the project group/Support for sustaining the training of the project team members and carries out the end user training sessions;
- Provide quqlity assurance of the implemented features.
- A broad understanding of retail best practices;
- Minimum 3 years related working experience in the retail industry environment, ideally gained in information systems, merchandise management or general retail consulting roles;
- Ability to understand the ¿big picture¿ and to identify and resolve key issues, and strong customer focus;
- Strong interpersonal, presentation and communication skills;
- Bachelor¿s degree in business and/or computer science;
- Ability to develop an understanding of the customer¿s business and to interpret that understanding;
- Good attention to detail and ability to see things through;
- Strong sense of ownership and commitment;
- Good project and people management experience would be a plus.
