General:
The BO OSS Engineer is working with Front Office and Development Group for sustaining and delivery Operating System and Support Operations services for customer networks and services within several of the following service areas:
- Support OSS Platforms (HP Openview / BMC Remedy/ Business Objects Reporting tool and Network and Inventory application / SuperMap)
- Operation & Maintenance
- Deployment and new rollout activities, Performance Improvement measurement
- Troubleshooting the actual platforms and environments as Production/Preproduction and Test environments.
Responsabilities:
- Finds solutions to problems with some guidance
- Assures 2nd level restoration and preventive maintenance
- Assures performance analysis and short term measures for optimization
- Assures performance reporting to enable long-term improvements
- Define and set up of routines, schedules and reporting templates based on goals and priorities defined
- Define support systems set-up for collection of performance statistics
- Prepare, test and implement services configuration changes as development groups delivered
- Able to troubleshoot and improve level of skills to colleagues from his team.
Requirements:
Technical
- medium Linux, Unix and Windows skills
- medium PL/SQL skills
- knowledge of networking
- one year experience in Technical Support area, in Telecom industry or similar industry
Education
- University degree
Others
- Fluent English (spoken and written)
- 24h x 7 on call availability for critical issues
Nice to have requirements:
- Broad knowledge within telecom and datacom
- Working in an international environment, with customers and suppliers.
- Remedy, Business Objects and HP OpenView skills
