This is an excellent opportunity to work in a well-established telecommunication company as a
BIG DATA SOFTWARE ENGINEER
where your main activities will include:
* Working together with IT Solution Architect and Business Users in order to develop reports, identify business insights and business patterns in situations where traditional DWH technologies are inefficient (large amounts of data, multiple input sources – either structured or unstructured data);
* Developing both backend processing applications using open source Big Data technologies and presentation layers in order to display data results from backend processes.
The candidate should meet the following criteria:
* Understands MapReduce and is able to develop vanilla MapReduce applications;
* Familiar with Hadoop ecosystem and different components / technologies around Hadoop: HDFS, PIG, Hive;
* Minimal SQL knowledge for integration with RDBMS like datasources;
* Java knowledge (familiar with either Spring MVC or JEE), understands multithreading processes and understands challenges of distributed processing;
* Is able to develop PIG UDF using Java;
* Familiar with a machine learning library (e.g. Mahout, R);
* Elasticsearch knowledge;
