RESPONSABILITATI

To lead a group of Practice Consultants and Project Managers, taking responsibility for the delivery of consulting services to the country’s market via the consulting Demand organisation:
- in the area of Oracle BI&W`s expertise, in support of Oracle’s BI&W products
- in a quantity that supports a defined practice business plan
- to a quality that supports both margin and customers’ reasonable expectations of the level of expertise a world class software company will have in its own products.

Takes responsibility for the operation of a “Practice Team”, within parameters set by the overall Practice plan of a major Practice within the Consulting LOB of the country.

SCOPE:
- Reports to the Country Delivery Practice Director for the BI&W Practice
- Works as part of the Delivery Practice Management Team, led by the Country Delivery Practice Director
- Focused on a designated product or application area
- Responsible for achieving a designated Practice target

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Managing a group of professional Consultants and Project Managers (Practice Team)
- Providing leadership, direction and motivation to the Practice Team
- Deploying practice expertise in presales and delivery to ensure that solution components and assignments are well conceived and executed.
- Acting as a consultant in one’s own right, often in the presales phase of engagements or in overseeing and reviewing the work of one’s staff. Undertaking billable work if/where appropriate.
- Reviewing and approving proposals and bids; managing the transition from proposal acceptance to initiation of projects
- Managing the performance of the professional Consultants
- Recruiting, inducting, coaching and developing professional Consultants
- Balancing the competency needs of the business with the individual aspirations of the professional Consultants
- Analysing and interpreting the likely demand for the Practice in order to ensure appropriate availability of consulting resources.
- Promoting the current competence availability to the Demand organisation.
- Staying on top of new developments, new approaches and new Oracle products in the BI&W area, able to articulate their utility and benefits, planning for delivery. Able to position Oracle solutions vs competitor solutions.
- Creating and promoting a portfolio of Professional Consulting Services for the Practice area and preparing to roll out global offerings.
- Working with Resourcing and Demand to influence the allocation of Consultants to Projects
- Working with Demand and the Sales Organisation in order to balance the needs of the customers with the Practice’s ability to deliver consulting services
- Communicating to the consultant’s the feedback obtained from the Demand organisation

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

-Set objectives for, and review the performance of Professional Consultants and Project Managers, taking action to ensure targets are met and individuals are developed.
- Ensure scope & expectations for projects are properly defined, including quality and finance plans
- Manage and allocate a training budget for the Practice
- Control practice expenditure in line with budget or current operating plans
- Generate and submit regular practice forecast data and practice performance data
- Operate in line with Oracle’s HR policies and procedures e.g. recruitment and Performance Management
- Ensure that Practice Team members operate in line with Oracle Consulting’s policies and procedures


CERINTE

-Proven track record in effectiveness and efficiency for people management in the ICT-industry
- Proven mastering of the BI&W area, but not necessary on Oracle products
- (Preferably:) good understanding of the Oracle Consulting operating model, back-office systems and processes
- Proven ability to operate in a networked environment (matrix-model, multiple reporting / interaction-lines)
- Perseverant, ‘can-do’ attitude (i.e. seeking multiple alternatives to ‘get the job done’ when the initial approach doesn’t succeed)
