Test automation for a telecommunication client;the next generation firewall.
Firewall configuration, testing the firewall functionality by using different software packet generators (hping, sendip), verifying correct functionality with packet capture and checking the firewall logs.
All of this should be put in TCL scripts for generating automated tests.
The goal of the project is to automate the existing test specifications and help reducing the automation backlog.
As automation framework will use an existing framework based on TCL/Itcl/Expect, and a large number of library procedures already available for interacting with the firewall products the other devices in the automation testbed.
Responsibilities:
Create network setups according to test specifications.
Verify the setup functionality by using different software packet generators (hping, sendip), verifying correct functionality with packet capture and checking the firewall logs.
Write TCL scripts for automating the manual tests.
- Networking - TCP/IP.
- Testing knowledges.
- Scripting - any scripting language (TCL. Perl, Python, Bash etc.). Preferred TCL
