The incumbent will be required to work in a project environment – from study phase through designing, implementation, documenting, delivering and maintaining Blending and Movement Management (BMM) solutions primarily in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
BMM solutions may involve multiple different BMM applications, and the as-sociated interfaces with other packages, such as Refinery Information Systems (RIS), Planning and Scheduling, Oil Accounts, Process Ana-lyzer Systems, Laboratory Information Systems (LIMS) and Tank Gauging Systems (TGS).
Good knowledge of hydrocarbon industry including upstream, mid-stream and downstream.
Good and up to date knowledge of BMM software (after appropriate initial training in all relevant packages) and ability to apply them throughout the project cycle.
The position is a direct staff position with billability to external cus-tomer projects, intercompany customer projects and customer support services on average >= 90%.
The applicant will be responsible for:
• Successfully delivering BMM projects on-time, on-budget, in alignment with the client order and to the full satisfaction of the client unlocking the targeted business value using state-of-the-art technology.
• Having a good working knowledge of the BMM portfolio (after appropriate initial training in all relevant packages). State-of-the-art applications covered by this portfolio consist of the following:
a) A blend ratio control application (Experion Blend Controller)
b) A blend optimization application (Open Blend Property Con-trol)
c) A blending instructions/recipe application (Blending Instruc-tions)
d) A blend management/KPI application (Blend Management)
e) A tank farm monitoring application (Inventory Monitor)
f) A movement monitoring and control application (Movement Management)
• Having a good working knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (e.g. Experion PKS) and Industrial IT (e.g. RDBMS, Networking, XML Services and state-of-the-art Programming Languages).
• Having a good working knowledge of third party applications used to create integrated supply chain management systems (after ap-propriate initial training in all relevant packages).
• Utilizing leading technologies in the delivery of Blending and Movement Management projects.
• Applying applicable norms, standards, best practices, guidances and regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s preferred in Chemical Engineering, Physics or similar engineering discipline. Non chemical engineers will need to display excellent process understanding and knowledge gained by plant experience.
• Preferably some years experience in the hydrocarbon industry.
• Preferably experience with state-of-the-art Blending and Movement Management solutions, Advanced Process Control (APC), Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and industrial IT projects
• Preferably holds appropriate industrial IT technology certificates (e.g. MCTS SQL Server, XML Services and state-of-the-art Pro-gramming Languages).
• Preferably holds a Six Sigma Green Belt certification.
• Preferably in the possession of an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification.
• Understanding of project management fundamentals, certification a plus (e.g. Prince2, PMI).
• Good written and oral communication skills (English language mandatory and preferably another European language such as German or French).
• Excellent analytical and trouble-shooting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with external and internal customers.
• Ability to work in and foster virtual team environments mandatory.
Position requires up to 30% international travel mostly in Europe, Middle East & Africa region.
