- Participates in risk assessment approach and develops risk based audit programs, to incorporate risks and tests of controls specific for the audited departments / flows.
- Reviews ING internal and external regulatory requirements for inclusion in the audit programs.
- Undertakes direct audits on business and operational areas in wholesale banking departments and in bank branches, including field visits, according to audit planning.
- Ensures performance of detailed reviews on existing flows to identify irregularities, risks, controls weaknesses and areas not covered by internal controls.
- Prepares audit reports in English language, describing control weaknesses, related risks and making sound audit recommendations.
- Discuss in co-operative manner the audit findings with Managers of audited departments and agrees on most efficient way to fulfill audit recommendations.
- Liaises between the bank staff and regulators / external auditors
- Minimum 3 years of experience in banking: in internal audit or in other risk-control oriented departments (i.e risk management, compliance, etc); OR minimum 3 years experience in a “Big-4” external audit company.
- University degree, preferably in Banking / Economics / Auditing;
- Professional qualification CIA / ACCA obtained or studies in progress, are an important asset;
- Good knowledge of main flows, potential risks and related controls in banking environment (dealing, equities, operations, risk management, compliance, information security, features of wholesale banking products and services, systems and IT applications etc);
- Experience in the field of audit techniques, audit approach, audit planning, audit programs
- Proficient in English language, verbal & written;
- Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office, other dedicated banking software;
- Solid problem analysis & judgmental skills;
- Investigative skills;
- Very good communication skills - verbal & written;
- Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships while displaying a high degree of integrity & objectivity;
- Proactive, confident and results-oriented attitude;
- Very well organized, efficient, self disciplined;
