BM Tech is partner to one of the world's largest leading supplier of high performance analog and mixed-signal solutions and nonvolatile memory products used in automotive, aircraft, telecommunications, computation, industrial and consumer markets. For their Bucharest headquarter we are looking for an Application Developer (VB, SQL) – producing business applications based in Romania.
This person will be performing analysis, design, and development of technical solutions using Visual Basic and MS SQL Server-based database applications. This will include developing and maintaining data interfaces between MS SQL Server/Oracle to applications software. Other responsibilities will include communicating with end-users to understand business problems/issues and providing them with technical support, and write documentation in accordance with standards and procedures.
Position Summary
-Perform development of VB/SQL applications
-Prepare statement of work, design, coding, testing, and rollout support for new IT projects and application enhancements;
-Contribute to project development estimates & timelines;
- Write and maintain technical and functional requirements documents;
- Perform testing of programs and reports; create, document, evaluate results against specifications, isolate and fix bugs;
- Prepare application(s) for release through the change control process;
- Coordinate activities with other team members for successful transition of the application through development, testing, implementation and maintenance stages;
- Provide production support for existing systems, including trouble-shooting, fixing bugs and implementing enhancements;
- Provide subject matter expertise input to team members on workability of designs, architecture, and testing. Research and recommend solutions to client requirements, as needed.
Required Skills: 2+ years developing and designing software applications; 2+ years MS SQL Server 2000 / 2005 experience; 2+ years Visual Basic experience; 2+ years T-SQL experience; 2+ years experience developing/maintaining data interfaces; 2+ years experience analyzing business requirements and translating them to technical requirements; Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Information Technology.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent ;
- Two plus years of Visual Basic development;
- Two plus years of Application/Database Development;
- Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services or Crystal Reports;
- Ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task;
- Strong analytical, problem solving and issue resolution skills;
- Good oral and written communication skills in English;
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment;
