Our customer is one of the top 10 phone manufacturers in the world, with a strong presence in the Smartphones segment, mainly due to its well-known name and brand. Moreover, it has shown sustainable increase of sales and is now focusing on making from its Android-based series of products an asset to sustain growth.
Using the 3G (and HSPA+) and LTE technologies, as well as Android 4.0.x OS, their products have become success stories across Asia, the US and Northern Europe.
Together, we are looking into bringing more value to their communications Android applications. In the first phase, the project involves a 6 month start-up in Lund (Sweden), working on site for the client throughout the entire process.
Overview of your role inside the team:
- To develop/port Android applications for customer’s products;
- To develop new product features, as part of the development team;
- To provide regular releases during the development phase;
- To manage research topics, architecture definition, studies, internal code reviews, forecasts and technical audits;
- To drive innovation by coming up with new ideas for the customer’s products and processes;
- To insure the corrective and evolving maintenance ;
- To point out issues and advocate the best solutions, while still presenting both the advantages and the limits implied by each of them.
WHY YOU?
In order to be considered for this position, you must have:
- Hands-on experience in Android and Java development;
- Knowledge in the Android platform;
- Experience in reading system and UI specifications and to transform them into software modules/applications;
- Proactive programming style that anticipates and solves project roadblocks;
- Interest to learn more about new programming languages and frameworks;
- Knowledge in embedded SW development and Agile methods are considered a plus
- Fluency in English;
