• Design, model 3D parts and assemblies, create drawings for plastics and sheet metal components- automotive interiors.
• Responsible for the design of interior components/modules from concept to series production taking into account the required specifications.
• Concept development (concept sections, hand sketches, concept drawings, data sheets).
• Assure that the parts/components are on-schedule, on-function, in the proper assembly, and as cost-effective as possible, as part of development.
• Identification of problem areas and if necessary developing creative solutions.
• Perform tolerance calculations & FMEA studies.
• Track the results of the FEA simulation.
• Creating internal and customer drawings suitable for release, assure creation of documentation.
• Edit change request and purchased part specifications.
• Define, coordinate and if necessary modify the technical requirements for components/modules.
• Communicate with suppliers and customers.
• Provide input and offer support in purchasing process.
• Assess the development status and, if necessary, implement corrective actions.
• Licensed Engineer with proven design capabilities in automotive interiors;
• At least 2-3 years relevant working experience in designing of plastic parts, sheet-metal and/or die-cast parts;
• Good knowledge of tolerance calculation, plastic injection and technical design expertise;
• Proven hands-on experience with CATIA V5 or NX, ideally also with PLM Team center;
• Excellent English level and/ or medium German language knowledge.
