Project Description
Medico is a high-end Hospital Information System with a broad functional spectrum, constructed based on the experience and input thousands of users in Germany.
It supports all substantial occupational groups and functional areas in the hospital and supplies the management infrastructure with the necessary information for operational and strategic control.
Responsibilities
The system configurators will:
Execute Customizing of the Customers Systems based on data sheets received from Siemens Consultants at the customer site
The customizing consists out of setting special values for specific parameters either in configuration files or trough the Medico GUI
Create Clinical Letters template using MS Word and VBA, based on specifications received from Siemens Consultants at the customer site, using VBA, ODBC, SQL
Create documentation forms using the medico form generator “Clinical documentation”. This task includes coding the event handlers for each form using VBS
Create workflows with medico workflow engine (based on Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation)
Training
One of the main tasks of the medico configurator during the first 2-3 months of the job will be the education in UNIX/Linux basic operating system functionalities as well as knowledge acquisition in the processes of the German hospital and health care system (administrative and clinical processes). Also the candidates will need to bring their German skills(if not available) to a level that allows smooth interaction with teams in Germany and in order to understand the documentation (available only in German). Continuous evaluation of the acquired know-how will be made during the first 3 months in order to determine the fitness of the candidate to the job
Travel
System configurators will need to travel to Germany for the on boarding phase for a period between 1 and 3 months. After the on boarding is done, sporadically travels to Germany might be required but not for longer than 1 month/year

A good knowledge and practical experience with : MS Windows, MS Office (first of all MS Access, MS Word), Internet , E-Mail
Experience with Databases (knowledge of SQL language and relational databases)
Knowledge and experience in Visual Basic, Visual Basic for Applications , VB Script and ODBC
UNIX/Linux knowhow is a plus
Medical skills required as a plus
Experience with utilizing/implementing Hospital Information Systems, Departmental Systems (e.g RIS, Cardiology) is a plus
Knowledge of administrative and clinical processes in hospital (patient admission, outpatient department, billing, in- an outpatient surgery, ordering, ward administration, physician letter, clinical documentation) is a plus
Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
