The strong partnership we have been developing with a French company – an European leader in various online tourism services (trips, cruise, hotels, airplane tickets, etc.) – allows us to expand our team and to welcome new smart and well-prepared Java J2EE professionals. The sites developed and maintained by our Pentalog dedicated IT specialists, add-up over 70 millions visualizations and 5 millions unique visitors each month.
This dedicated team you will join has currently 17 members: a Project Manager, 2 Java Architects, 10 Java/J2EE Developers, a Business Intelligence Specialist, 2 Testers and a Webmaster. The collaboration with this client is open-end, in a dedicated team and allows the participation in several different projects.
Some of the technologies that are being used include: Java, J2EE, Web Services, MySQL, UML, Spring, SpringMVC, GWT with Vaadin, Hibernate, Tomcat, Junit, JAX-WS with CXF/Xfire, Talend, Maven. The applications architecture is SOA. The organizing approach is based on a mix of Agile and classical procedures, inside a controlled environment:
- The requests are grouped in iterations;
- The development process is MDA, using cod generating tools;
- Continuous integration and process automation;
- Monitoring the technical quality of the deliverable in real time;
- Continuous testing at all levels (unit testing, integration testing, non-regression automatized testing, functional testing).
In this context, taking into consideration your level of experience and your knowledge, you can accede to one of the three Java J2EE job categories we have opened:
- Intermediate Java J2EE Software Engineer – 2-3 years of relevant experience;
- Experienced Java J2EE Software Engineer – 3-5 years of relevant experience;
- Senior Java J2EE Software Engineer – over 6 years of experience.
Overview of your role in Pentalog:
Your added value inside Pentalog team will be your knowledge in writing robust and reliable systems as well as your curiosity, professionalism and enthusiasm for learning new technologies and discussing innovative ideas with your colleagues.
Depending on your level and also on your proven abilities and interest, you will be involved in activities like:
- Develop new features front to back as part of the team;
- Ensure the delivery of high quality solutions to agreed specifications and within agreed time scales;
- Assure the evolutive and corrective maintenance;
- Drive innovation by coming up with new ideas for our products and processes;
- Point out issues with the existing architectures and codes on different projects, followed by active involvement in order to clean it up;
- Manage research topics, architecture definition, studies, internal code reviews, estimations, and technical audits;
- Maintain a close relationship with the client and ensure that the final result responds to it’s needs;
- Act as a mentor for other new or less experienced members in the team if and when needed.
Required skills:
- Excellent understanding of J2EE; good relevant experience in a professional Java development role, according with the job opening you are interested in;
- Good knowledge in back end technologies like Spring, Hibernate, JAX-WS WebServices built mainly on top of CXF/XFire or others;
- Medium to advanced level in Web 2.0 programming (Javascript, HTML, libraries Ajax);
- Experience with agile software development methodologies like XP and Scrum;
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent;
- Fluency in English is mandatory; any French knowledge is a strong advantage.

Grupul Pentalog a realizat in 2007 o crestere interna de 67% si o cifra de afaceri de 5,5M?. La inceputul anului 2008, echipa Pentalog numara deja 200 de persoane.
