Job Description:
Mechanical engineering with a focus on Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and optimizing dimensional management of mechanical systems. This includes verifying the use of industry standard GD&T practices, including control frames and datum references, running tolerance analyses, evaluating tolerance options, and verifying that appropriate tolerances are being applied for the manufacturing volumes and environment. Conducts feasibility studies/analyses and testing on new and modified designs.
Responsible for the static and dynamic design and analysis of mechanical systems, equipment and packages of diverse complexity and scope.
Conducts manual and/or computer aided tolerance analysis/evaluations of the sub-system and component designs to ensure design functionality. Ensures there is adequate information (materials, manufacturing, etc.) to conduct the analysis.
Analyze designs for interchangeability and design robustness. Analysis may take place in worst case or statistical conditions. Analysis may also take the form of determining root cause of a failure or assembly issue (FA). Ensures design variation is managed while supporting design objectives.
Directs and monitors the development of the GD&T schemes of the models and drawings to ensure compliance with appropriate/applicable codes and standards
Works in a variety of computer aided design (CAD) systems/environments to interrogate and identify functional interfaces of component and system designs.
Works with Manufacturing Team during the development of the dimensional controls to ensure the objectives of engineering functionality and the manufacturing requirements are balanced.

Requirements:
•Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
•Proficiency in the use of CAD system, advantage - Pro/Engineer
•Strong general engineering experience, logical & analytical thinking , good knowledge of drawing and dimensional and geometric tolerances, knowledge of mechanical assembly methods
•Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively.
•Ability to plan work and accomplish challenging objectives with a minimum of direction.
•Strong written and verbal English language communication skills
Advantage:
•Geometric Dimension & Tolerancing (GD&T) experience
•Proficient in the use of statistical tolerance and variation analysis methodology and software. Experience w/CETOL, Teamcenter Visualization suite, or other tolerance/variation analysis software is required to create and run tolerance analysis models.
