Consequently, a vacancy exists for a Senior Analyst Programmer to be based at the European Commission’s premises in Luxembourg.
Your key responsibilities:
The successful candidate will join the eFP7 Study project team devoted to the development of a User Registration Facility (URF) and its Participant database (PDB). The team is made up of 5 persons, including a database analyst and another developer in Java WebLogic. He will be responsible for the development of the URF part of the project, mostly dealing with user interfaces and modules working on the Oracle PDB. The work will cover the following activities:
• Developing the URF modules and the user interfaces for Commission’s users, including authentication with ECAS;
• Documentation of the code produced;
• Performing programme testing and installing the system in the production environment as the Data
Centre.
Interviews of users and meetings with other system developers inside the Commission will be necessary. The work will be performed in Luxembourg but may require a few one-day missions to Brussels.
• University degree + minimum 4 years of experience in IT OR non-university degree with minimum 6 years of experience in IT;
• Rapid self starting capability and previous experience in software development team working;
• Proactive attitude, communicative (i.e. good listener) and customer orientated;
• Proven technical expertise in software development with Oracle database, SQL requests, J2EE programming, user interface design and implementation, user authentication;
• Expertise in WebLogic and Java in J2EE environments would be highly appreciated as well;
• BEA WebLogic Portal or other Portal technologies.
