This position is responsible for planning, directing and maintaining economical and efficient transportation service companies. This position is also responsible for the daily supervision of activities of the Transportation department.
Proactively collaborates with customers (Merchants / Vendors ) of the organization to ensure timely resolution of all issues arising from the processing of inbound and outbound shipments.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Negotiate pricing and service with clients.
• Manage tracking and tracing systems for all inbound and outbound transports.
• Identify and resolve issues with shipments in a timely manner.
• Provide clear and accurate communications to all vendors, carriers, and internal departments.
• Manage truck drivers.
• Manage transportation claims.
• Work with Outbound Delivery schedule to improve operational and performance metrics;
• Respond directly to the main Head Office in Italy
• Very strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work with complex vendor network within the Supply Chain network,
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications to include Excel and Access.
• Strong negotiation skills
• Must be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines and be available after normal business hours to resolve problematic delivery
• Strong written and verbal communication
• Creative problem solver
• High level in English and French or Italian present advantage.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
• Minimum two years Transportation / Logistics field.
• University degree in a related field preferred.
