The Business Development Manager is responsible for the development, sales and management of profitable new regional distribution solutions that require express/freight transportation services.
Job Description
Manage a Sales Pipeline of Regional Prospects and identify profitable opportunities. Typically projects are in excess of 1 mio Euro in annual sales.
Complete business development plans for targeted accounts, identifying Customer business issues, needs and opportunities for the company to create competitive advantage for the customer by pro-actively offering integrated solutions.
Actively acquire business, including solution development, presentations and pricing proposals, negotiations and closure. Work with partners, support groups, and the country business units to progress proposals.
Liaise, co-ordinate and use the resources of the country business units and regional support teams to achieve the acquisition of new business, the maintenance of customer satisfaction and the development of long-term business partnerships.
Identify generic industry specific solutions that would create a competitive advantage for the company for a specific industry group.
Identify potential target customers and/or projects.
Provide support as required to acquire Pan regional business
Ensure that all pricing proposals comply with the company’s guidelines and Policies.
Ensure that implementation plans are executed to agreed timetables.
Minimum 5 years sales experience, selling solutions to international customers.
Results driven personality.
Minimum 3 years experience in customer relationship management.
Good understanding of Supply Chain concepts and principles
Excellent understanding of the service parts logistics environment.
Well developed communication and commercial skills.
High numeracy required for pricing and planning
Able to deal with country sales managers and board members of international companies
Strong team player with network services and strategic logistics skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
