As a key member of the Plastic Products European management team, this position will:
- Implement processes that drive world class ES&H performance and ensure our right to operate
- Take active role in set up of new plant operations in Romania
- Responsible for all on-going plant operations in Romania
- ;As key member of S&OP team, ensure adherence to manufacturing and inventory plan
- Liason with site logistics provider; monitor logistics provider performance against site kpi’s and implement process implements in coordination with WW Supply Chain organization
- Ensure plant staff and hourly workers have proper training and skills to perform required tasks
- Build and develop the site organization to a successful team
- Implement best in class manufacturing process to deliver quality products to meet customer demand
- Drive continuous improvement within the plant in the areas of cost, safety and quality using Lean principles
- Manage plant cost to specified targets
- Manage plant performance metrics to specified targets
- Communicate expectations for employee conduct and hold all employees accountable.
The following experience and background are required to the successful candidate:
- A strong plant operation background with a min. 4 Years experience in plant supervision and management of an international company
- Technical degree desirable (Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent) and with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Significant experience working in Romania; well versed in local culture and values
•Fluent in Romanian with ability to communicate your ideas well in spoken and written English
- Strong project management skills with proven ability to multi-task effectively
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with employees with a wide range of technical backgrounds
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues in other world areas
- Ability to build a high performance organization and effectively delegate responsibility within that structure
- Capable of leading a diverse team and fostering a culture of growth and team work
- Ability to maintain strategic perspective and achieve results with minimal daily oversight
- Capable of serving as Solutia’s official representative to all external parties in Romania (local government entities, trade organizations, customers, suppliers, etc.)
- Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis.
