RESPONSABILITATI

Lead Stress Engineers preferably with Composite experience, to work on various projects including A350 XWB, A400M, Serial Programmes and Repairs group.
Tasks : As the sucessful candidate, you will be responsible, both directly and as part of a team, for ensuring the structural integrity of the
(major) sub assembly of a product by;
- carrying out static stress calculations to assess design solutions for a whole range of tasks, ranging from concept design to manufacturing concessions against the Aircraft Design requirements
- ensuring fatigue and damage tolerance requirements are met
- liasing with other functions and projects to ensure stress requirements are fully integrated
- operating as an approval signatory for stress
- assisting in the structural design process to help ensure optimised design quality
- reporting critical technical issues up through functional management
- supporting on-going continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process and other
capability improvements
- providing technical leadership and approval for team members, new participants; supply base and other sub-contracted work
- undertaking, when required, appropriate associated project management tasks


CERINTE

As the sucessful candidate, you should be able to demonstrate the following charaterisitics:
- substantial experience working as an aircraft stress engineer involved in the analysis of composite and metallic structures using a broad range of standard hand and computer methods
- ability to rapidly and confidently assess structural problems under pressure and to provide the appropriate direction and guidance to team members
- ability to develop and coach less experienced stress engineers
- a good understanding of aircraft composites production methods and processes, especially if gained through involvement in MRB or similar manufacturing support activities
- ability to ensure that solutions are technically integrated across the whole project
- ability to demonstrate good leadership skills
- a high regard for both internal and external customers, whilst maintaining Aircraft integrity as the over-riding principle
Additional qualities include:
- Aeronautical Engineering degree or equivalent
- Chartered Engineer or equivalent
- Signatory Level or apptitude to attain within 3 months of starting in the role
- Broad range of standard hand and computer stress analysis tools
- Good communication skills and a pro-active approach to problem solving
- English to advanced / negotiation level
