JOB TITLE: MLN EH & S/Security Engineer

POSITION No. 6

REPORTS TO:
? MLN Operations Manager.
? Functionally to Company EH&S department.

SUPERVISES:
? MLN Site Doctor.
? Safety Assistant.
? Safety Trainer.

JOB SPECIFICS:
? The position is based at the MLN CPF.
? 2 positions.
? Rotation 4/4 (weeks).
? Position 1 BR/1 Sonatrach.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:
? Advise and assist operations and maintenance staff in the safe management of the CPF, Camp and Field Production operations sites (MLN-Ops sites).
? Encouraging, supporting and promoting Company?s policy of continuous improvement in issues of the Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S).
? Encourage behaviour modification of all MLN-Ops sites personnel towards safe individual and teamwork habits.
? Daily inspection of MLN-Ops sites to identify and control physical hazards and poor work practices.
? Regulate camps inspection.
? Considering and evaluating contractors? performance and ensuring compliance with contractors? EH&S policy and procedures.
? Ensuring all new arrivals have an understanding of the MLN-Ops sites and job hazards, their personal EH&S responsibilities, required behaviour and work practices, Company does not permit hazardous working conditions or excessive hour of work.
? Hazard identification and risk assessments for routine and new jobs.
? Assisting Company and contractors? personnel to understand and practice the Permit To Work, Emergency Response and other safety-critical systems.
? Assist contractors in the implementation of their safe working practices to the benefit of the overall Company?s EH&S performance.
? Assist in the integration of contractors? personnel at the worksite, and make clear Company?s overall expectations in terms of EH&S performance.
? Implement waste management policies.
? Management of interfaces with Military and Security advisor(s).


SPECIFIC TASKS:
? Briefing of all ?Non-Algerian new arrivals? at MLN-Ops sites.
? Supervising daily and weekly safety meeting with contractors? personnel.
? Processing safety input (UACs) and distributing data to MLN-Ops sites and Hassi office.
? Preparing safety topics for pre-tour meetings.
? Discussing safety alerts with all crew members.
? Working with the Doctor on issues of welfare, and reporting on a weekly basis.
? Participation in accident/incident investigation and reporting.
? Risk assessment for permit to work.
? Identify skill and training deficiencies among crew and suggest training requirements.
? General CPF site training, e.g. sling and lifting, importance of PPE, fire-fighting, etc.
? Lead BR fire-fighting response team, and ensure regular training and practice exercises are carried out.
? Assist in the provision of specific and appropriate training for Company and contractor staff.
? Identify and maintain plant hazardous area classifications.
OUTPUTS:
? Reduced workplace hazards.
? An informed and safer workplace and workforce.
? Issue daily UAC report.
? Issue weekly UAC report.
? Camp inspection reports.
? Issuing safety topics for daily, weekly and pre-tour meetings.
? Weekly reports to the Ops Manager copied to EH&S functional Managers.
