JOB DESCRIPTION
General Requirements for candidates
* Ability to perform rack integration activities, power and system cabling
requirements (applies to General assembler also)
* Able to mount electronic hardware into standard 19¿ or 23¿ telecom racks.

* Able to write step-by-step MOP procedures with enough detail to guide
installation teams through entire install from start to finish.
* Working knowledge of link and IP assignments for installation MOPs
* Ability to estimate resource requirements i.e. how many man-hours and skill
set required for hardware integration, hardware repair or I&C project.
* Ability to provide a complete integration material list.
* Intimate knowledge of the telecommunications industry, outside plant and
Telecom office technologies.
* General knowledge of GSM/CDMA/GPRS/UMTS features and nomenclature
* Ability to create Engineering Design Packages, MOPs, and Site Survey Reports.
* Working knowledge of Unix, IP and SS7 desirable. Experience in support of live
systems in these areas.
* Expertise in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting telecommunications
systems.
* Must work well within a team demonstrating leadership abilities and the
adaptability to changing environments.
* Satisfactory written and oral communication skills, including customer
service.
* Ability to execute an effective logical problem diagnosis effort.
* Must be able to interface and coordinate Tier 2/Tier 3 support personnel to
jointly resolve problems.
* Must show initiative and be able to work with little supervision.
* Proven track record of installing on large-scale projects.
* Must use Agilent¿s time vouchering system weekly to track all hours worked
towards project.
* Ability to work remotely from field, home and office.
* Ability to work in a Telecom Central Office environment.
* ABILITY TO SPEAK FOREIGN LANGUAGES (Typical language requirements include
English, French, Spanish, Italian and German ¿ please detail fully)
* Able to follow directions given from Lead Engineer on customer site.
* Willing to work nightshift during Maintenance window as required.
* Complete knowledge of WQM and Access7 systems such that you could attend
Customer Facing Teams and customer meetings and advise on installation
requirements.
* Working knowledge of link and IP assignments for installation MOPs.
* Ability to provide a complete installation material list, and perform all
portions of the MOP.
* Ability to do site surveys for rack installation, power and system cabling
requirements
* Full working knowledge of relevant industry standards ¿ please detail
* Ability to inspect an installation and point out deficiencies for correction
* Knowledge of wire wrap quality standards
* Knowledge of fiber optic installation standards
* Skill set for installing and testing pre terminated fiber optic cable.
* Skills required to ¿lace¿ in signal cables and tie down power cable as
required.
* Have adequate security clearance, certifications and badges to enter customer
site.
* Able to mount electronic hardware into standard 19¿ or 23¿ telecom racks.
* Able to work on ladders and up in cable ladders to complete cable runs.
* Knowledge, skills and tools required for installing and mounting equipment
racks in a Central Office environment.
