Working with the management team for the development, implementation, and compliance/adherence to health, safety and policies and procedures for the business;
Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on the effectiveness of health, safety policies, processes and procedures, providing recommendations for change/improvements as necessary and take a hands on lead approach where necessary;
Working with the senior management team to ensure compliance with legal and corporate health, safety and environment standards;
Controling the site H&S risk assessment process;
Maintaining all aspects of the controlling management system for health and safety;
Providing support and expertise to the business in projects and/or activities that have an impact on employee health and safety;
Managing and participating in externally and internally led site audits for HS with the responsibility for preparing action plans and following through on plan requirements;
Maintaing all H&S records for the business;
Managing employee liability claims against the company;
Developing and maintaing environmental risk assessments in the environmental management system;
Developing and maintaing ergonomic risk assessments in the safety management system;
Developing and maintaing safe systems of work within the safety management system;
Reviewing risk assessments as and when required;
Maintaining the H&S Data Base of accidents, incidents, near misses and hazardous conditions;
Implementing the Safety Management system;
Creating and submitting H&S Reports;
Performing ergonomic risk assessments;
Performing review of all risk assessment reviews annually;
Ensuring that safe systems of work are being adhered to.
Bachelor's degree in engineering or agricultural sciences and forestry;
Graduate course in H&S for 80 hours, postgraduate course in the H&S with a duration of at least 180 hours;
Minimum 3-4 years experience in H&S;
Very good knowledge of health and safety legislation;
Good level of English;
Good level of German;
Good verbal and written communication skills;
Good presentation skills;
Highly effective in working with others, both inside and outside the organization.
